Graduation season officially arrived. Here are five tips to help prepare for a session. Finding the best location, outfit, creativity, personality spotlight, and galleries.
Location is key! Discovering your likes and dislikes is important to the photographer. You want to capture a session that defines you. Learning about your vision and dream session makes things easier. Reading your mind is a skill I don't have. Haha! Luckily, I enjoy scouting locations that meet a customer's vision. You deserve the best! You worked hard on your accomplishments, so finding the perfect backdrop is worth it. Making this your dream session is my priority!
Outfits are a game changer! You deserve to look your best! Here is your moment to shine; let me help you make it the greatest. Colors and outfit choices are important. I like to use this analogy. When you go on a date, you dress to impress. Well, the same concept when you book a session. You dress to impress, so your pictures turn out amazing! If you're waiting for a cap and gown before scheduling your session. I just learned from another client that Amazon has a good selection of caps and gowns. I even spotted some recently at a thrift store. It didn't dawn on me that a thrift store is another great place to check—no more excuses to wait for the cap and gown when you can find choices.
Creativity is my jam! Discovering your vibe is something I want to provide. Adding props like sunglasses, confetti, or even a toast can be a part of your session. These are just a few ideas. I'll keep it simple for now, and we can chat more when you book!
This session is all about you! Making it about your personality is the best! I want to make you feel comfortable and connected with who you are. Graduating is the most significant accomplishment worth documenting. You worked too hard to let it slip by. Here is what I mean by personality spotlight. If you have an aspiring dream job specifically for Seniors, let's pick a place or add props that describe that profession. If you're a Graduate, you're welcome to use props that you use for your career, such as firefighters, nurses, teachers, etc...
Now, let's talk about galleries and the waiting period. I love to share sneak peeks if you follow along on my social media platform. I do share sneak peeks. Presenting the final product takes time and patience. I like to present the best reveal. When you go to your favorite coffee shop, you have faith that they make your favorite drink how you like it. You don't ask for the ingredients. You wait and let the barista do their job—the same concept when waiting for galleries. Please don't ask for RAW images. Raw images are unfinished work, and waiting for the final product produced with love and creativity is what I aim for.
